Install on Mac

TAPause works on Macs with Apple Silicon (M1 and newer) running macOS 13 or later.

Steps

  1. Install the remote-control app on your phone from the App Store or Google Play. Download links are on the home page. The app is free. You can also open the store and search for tapause.
  2. Once the phone app is installed, continue by installing the helper agent on your Mac. Download tapause.dmg.
  3. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag TAPause into the Applications folder, or launch the installer by double-clicking the icon.
  4. Have your license key ready — you'll need to get it before installation on the Pricing page.
  5. Follow the installer's on-screen instructions.
  6. When installation finishes, a QR code for pairing with your phone is shown on screen.
  7. Open the app on your phone, tap Add a device, grant camera access, and scan the QR code from your Mac's screen. Your Mac will be added to the paired list and you'll be able to control it from your phone.
  8. You can add or remove controlled devices at any time through the app's intuitive interface.
  9. You can watch the video installation guide at this link — Under construction.

Uninstall

To uninstall the program, run the installer again — download tapause.dmg and have your license key ready.

Note: the license key is required both to prevent unauthorized removal of the program and to reset the license counter — so you can transfer the license to another computer if needed.

Important: resetting the license counter requires an internet connection, so the updated license information can be sent to Lemon Squeezy.
